Wanted: a few good fisher(wo)men; all hands invited to SEA-NL AGM in Gander on Saturday, Feb. 25th
Please consider this a personal invitation to attend SEA-NL’s first annual general meeting (AGM) on Saturday, Feb. 25th, at the Albatross Hotel in Gander.
The day will include:
• Elections for a new President and regional reps;
• Policy resolutions to guide the fishery forward;
• Sessions on electronic logbooks, and the latest on the seal front;
• Evening dinner and keynote address.
You’re also sure to hear talk about the 2023 price of fish.
All SEA-NL members in good standing (meaning dues have been paid) are eligible to nominate a candidate or run for a position.
Spouses are welcome.
You do not have to be a SEA-NL member to attend the AGM, but you must be a member to participate in debates/votes on the Convention floor.
SEA-NL members can also participate in the AGM virtually.
There is no charge to attend the AGM, but there is a $40 banquet fee to those who attend in person to cover a light lunch and evening meal.
SEA-NL has secured a $110 (plus tax) room rate for the AGM. (Please call the hotel at 709-256-3956 as soon as possible to book a room.)
All attendees — both in person and virtual — must register.

DFO also plans to make electronic logbooks mandatory in 2024.
How much will that decision cost your enterprise, and should you be concerned about the security of your catch data?
The issue will be front and centre at the AGM.
SEA-is also in the search for a new president to replace Jason Sullivan, and regional reps who have their finger on the pulse of the fisheries in their zones, leaders who aren’t bought and paid for our out for themselves.
Wanted: a few good fisher(wo)men.
See you at AGM ’23!
