New leadership blood for SEA-NL
Guaranteed there will be new blood, given there’s a clean leadership slate. Nine executive positions will be up for grabs on Nov. 18th during SEA-NL’s founding convention, and only licensed, independent owner-operator inshore fish harvester can run or vote.

That means Merv Wiseman and I, who are putting this together, can’t serve on the Board.
SEA-NL will be a distinct voice for enterprise owners ONLY.
SEA-NL isn’t about one fisherman or one fleet, but all NL enterprise owners, “united for the common good.”

The volunteer board would serve for two-year terms, and include:
Chair
Secretary-Treasurer
Over 40 Fleet Representative
Under 40 Fleet Representative
One representative from each fishing zone:
2J
3K
3L
3PS
4R/3PN
SEA-NL will have a staff that the Board can hire or fire, and a mission to support owner-operators with all issues that impact their fishing enterprises, and champion the province's inshore fishery.
But owner-operators must first step forward.
WHAT SEA-NL IS LOOKING FOR?
You must not be bought and paid for, or out for yourself. Must be loyal to the inshore fishery of Newfoundland and Labrador, and all inshore fleets.
Must share a vision for a thriving fishing industry driven by prosperous inshore enterprises to the benefit of rural communities, and future generations of fishermen/women.
Ryan Cleary,
SEA-NL
Independent licensed owner-operators are encouraged to join SEA-NL here. These blog posts will be public for a limited time, before becoming exclusive to the membership.
