Harvester of the Year

SEA-NL plans to introduce Inshore Harvesters of the Year awards, with more details to follow later this summer. The awards will recognize our fishermen/women, and to celebrate their role in our culture, society, economy, and future as a fishing province. Examples of superb seamanship and bravery on the North Atlantic are endless, and grow with every trip to sea by every last fishing boat. So too are tales of great catches that come from great fishing skill, and fishing know-how.  

 

Those nominated must represent excellence within an aspect of Newfoundland and Labrador’s commercial fishery, between January-December 2021. Skills, determination, leadership, consideration for other harvesters, and adaptability to changes in today’s fishery will all be important qualities to consider. Keep your eye out!
